SUGA, the Regional Users’ Groups (RUGs), and SunGard Public Sector have been discussing the future of training and networking events over the last year.   During these conversations, it was decided to restructure how training events are organized as to better serve the needs of SUGA members and SunGard Public Sector customers.   Following are some details SUGA is moving forward with for the future.  Please be assured the core fundamentals we as SUGA members have come to expect from our organization and our training events will not change.  Excellent session content, shared costs and networking opportunities will still be the core focus of each training event whether it be a regional event or an international training event...

West SUGA will be heading to San Diego for this year’s conference!  Paradise Point Resort & Spa is located on the beautiful Mission Bay.  The hotel itself boasts beach bonfire pits, a marina, a spa, and five dining venues. If you would like to be active or get outside, there are five pools throughout the property, a fitness center, 5 tennis courts, a putting golf course, and a basketball court.  It is only one mile to Sea World…and the San Diego Zoo and other top destinations are only a short drive away.  Go to Pacific Beach, less than a 5 minute drive, for different restaurants, shops, and nightlife!

Our room rates at the hotel are $139 (not including tax and assessment fees).  The cut-off date for these rates is November 8, 2014. Each hotel room includes a private patio with chairs, a mini fridge, alarm clock radio with mp3 input, iron & ironing board, coffee maker, hair dryer, and an in-room safe.  Your room rate also includes complimentary high speed wireless and hard-wired internet access.  Parking is a discounted $10/night.  To make your reservation, please call the hotel reservations at 800-344-2626.  You must identify yourself as attending the West SUGA Conference to receive these special rates.

Shuttle information:  The San Diego International Airport is only about a 10 minute drive from the hotel.  For transportation to Paradise Point from the airport, you can take a cab, which will be about $28 dollars one way.  Cabs will be outside the airport, so a reservation is not necessary.  You may also take Super Shuttle, which is about $14 per person, one way.  You can make a reservation with Super Shuttle ahead of time by calling (858) 974-8885.  Also check out http://www.supershuttle.com/Locations/SANAirportShuttleSanDiego.aspx for more information.
